Trading on margin is high-risk and fits only part of an investment plan.

Ventura Securities does not offer MetaTrader 4. The broker runs its own stack instead: the Ventura app, Ventura Pointer desktop terminal, and the ventura1.com web platform.
Ventura Securities Ltd is a SEBI-regulated domestic broker (registration INZ000194736), a member of NSE, BSE, MCX and NCDEX, and a depository participant with both NSDL and CDSL. Founded in 1994 in Mumbai, it operates through branches and sub-brokers covering 90%+ of India PIN codes. Indian residents can trade exchange-traded currency derivatives through Ventura, but on Ventura's own terminals, not on MetaTrader.
What MT4 Would Have Given You
MetaTrader 4 is built around the following capabilities:
- Automated trading via Expert Advisors (EAs) written in MQL4
- Custom indicators and a large library of third-party add-ons
- One-click execution with adjustable lot sizing
- Built-in strategy tester for backtesting
- Support for pending orders, trailing stops and hedging (on most builds)
For many Indian retail traders, the EA ecosystem is the deciding factor. Ventura's app and Pointer terminal provide charting, order placement and portfolio tracking, but the MQL4 automation layer is not available.
The Platform Stack in Practice
| Platform | Type | Best For | Automation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ventura app | Mobile | Order placement on the move | No EA support |
| Ventura Pointer | Desktop | Charting and multi-order workflow | No EA support |
| ventura1.com | Web | Quick access, no install | No EA support |
None of these three is a MetaTrader replacement. They are a domestic execution layer built around Indian exchange products. For delivery equity, F&O, currency derivatives and commodities, that covers the requirement. For a strategy that depends on an MT4 indicator file, it does not.
Where Currency Trading Actually Happens
Retail forex in India is tightly restricted. RBI and FEMA permit residents to trade only INR-based currency pairs - USD/INR, EUR/INR, GBP/INR, JPY/INR - plus permitted cross-currency derivatives, and only on SEBI-recognised exchanges: NSE, BSE and MSE. Exchange-traded INR currency derivatives are margin-based under SEBI and exchange SPAN+exposure margins, roughly 3-5% margin, which works out to around 20-30x on notional. There is no single fixed retail cap like the ESMA 1:30 applied in European jurisdictions.
Trading spot forex or CFDs with offshore brokers is illegal for Indian residents, and remitting funds abroad for margin forex trading is not a permitted LRS purpose. The RBI Master Direction on Electronic Trading Platforms prohibits operating a forex ETP in India without RBI authorisation.
| Instrument | Where It Trades | Settlement |
|---|---|---|
| USD/INR, EUR/INR, GBP/INR, JPY/INR | NSE, BSE, MSE | INR |
| Permitted cross-currency derivatives | SEBI-recognised exchanges | INR |
| Equity delivery and intraday | NSE, BSE | INR |
| Spot forex / offshore CFDs | Not permitted for residents | - |
NSE INR currency derivatives run 09:00-17:00 IST Monday to Friday, with cross-currency derivatives going to 19:30 IST.

Margin, Costs and What You Keep
Ventura's fee sheet is competitive by domestic standards. Delivery equity sits around 0.10-0.45%, intraday and futures run roughly 0.01-0.05%, options are about Rs.18-50 per lot, and both AMC and account opening come in at Rs.0 (free). Intraday margin and MTF operate under SEBI peak-margin norms.
| Charge | Rate |
|---|---|
| Equity delivery | ~0.10-0.45% |
| Intraday / futures | ~0.01-0.05% |
| Options | ~Rs.18-50 per lot |
| AMC | Rs.0 (free) |
| Account opening | Rs.0 |
Account structures come as Demat+Trading, with percentage-based plans and flat/exclusive plans depending on volume. Minimum funding was not verified at review, so confirm current requirements directly before planning a deposit size. Local funding runs through UPI and net-banking, and the base currency is INR with no domestic FX conversion needed, because SEBI-recognised exchange trading settles in INR.
Sizing Up the Alternatives
Since Ventura has no MT4, anyone whose workflow depends on MetaTrader is already looking at a different category of broker.
The framework to apply to any international broker considered for MT4 access:
- Strong tier-1 regulation (FCA, CySEC, ASIC) with the licence number verifiable on the regulator's own register
- Segregated client funds held at a separate institution, not commingled with operating capital
- Transparent, published commission and spread schedules, not "contact us for pricing"
- A multi-year track record you can date, not a rebrand from eighteen months ago
- Live support that answers in your timezone and in English
- Clear disclosure of which legal entity holds your account and under which jurisdiction
An offshore entity without local authorisation means no SEBI or RBI recourse if something goes wrong, and LRS cannot fund a margin forex account.
Common scams to watch for: Telegram and WhatsApp "signal" and PMS groups promising guaranteed monthly returns, cloned broker apps, unauthorised platforms on the RBI Alert List soliciting deposits then blocking withdrawals, and recovery-agent follow-on scams.
Tax and Reporting Reality
Exchange-traded currency futures and options profits are generally treated as non-speculative business income and taxed at your income-tax slab rates. Intraday speculative positions are speculative business income, where losses set off only against speculative income with a four-year carry-forward, versus eight years for non-speculative losses.
A 20% TCS applies on LRS foreign remittances above Rs.10 lakh per financial year, with the threshold raised from Rs.7 lakh effective 1 April 2025. TCS is an advance-tax credit, not a sunk cost, but it is cash out the door until you file. Residents must also declare worldwide income and foreign assets under Schedule FA. Crypto is taxed separately at a flat 30% plus 4% cess. Tax authority is the Income Tax Department / CBDT (incometax.gov.in). Rates are as of the review.
| Item | Treatment |
|---|---|
| Currency F&O profit | Non-speculative business income, slab rates |
| Intraday speculative loss | Set off vs speculative only, 4-year carry |
| Non-speculative loss | Carry-forward 8 years |
| LRS remittance above Rs.10 lakh | 20% TCS (advance-tax credit) |
Where This Setup Falls Short
No MT4, no MQL4, no EA automation. A strategy that runs on code cannot run here, and low brokerage does not change that.
The instrument menu is domestic by design: equity, F&O, currency, commodity, MF, IPO, insurance and PMS. No offshore spot forex and no CFD book, which is a legal constraint rather than a product gap. Islamic or swap-free accounts are not offered. Promotions were not verified at review, so don't build a cost model around a welcome bonus. The product support window is exchange hours, not 24/5.
Questions
How do I verify a broker before funding it?
Check the entity on the SEBI register at sebi.gov.in and cross-reference the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex platforms at rbi.org.in. Confirm which legal entity holds your account, whether client funds are segregated, and whether the licence actually covers the products you intend to trade. RBI notes its list is not exhaustive, so an absence from it is not clearance.
Does Ventura Securities have MetaTrader 4?
No. Ventura Securities does not offer MT4. Its platforms are the Ventura app, the Ventura Pointer desktop terminal and the ventura1.com web platform. If MT4 compatibility is a hard requirement, you'll need to look at brokers that provide it.
Can I trade forex on MT4 through Ventura?
You can trade INR-based currency derivatives on Ventura - USD/INR, EUR/INR, GBP/INR and JPY/INR - plus permitted cross-currency derivatives, but only on SEBI-recognised exchanges and only through Ventura's own terminals. Spot forex and CFD trading with offshore brokers is not permitted for Indian residents.
