Ventura Securities Demo Account

Ventura Securities does not offer a virtual-money demo account. Account opening and AMC are free, so Indian traders can explore the platform at no cost before trading live.

Trading on margin is high-risk and fits only part of an investment plan.

What the Demo Actually Is

Ventura Securities does not offer a standalone virtual-money demo account. What Ventura gives you is free account opening with zero AMC, which covers part of what a demo would: you see the platform, place orders, and watch how the terminal behaves before committing real money.

This is a domestic, SEBI-regulated broker. Its model is built around real exchange trading from day one, not around simulated environments. For a complete newcomer, that distinction matters.

FYI
Account opening at Ventura is free (Rs.0). AMC is also Rs.0. You can explore the platform without paying anything, even though there is no separate demo mode.
Most SEBI-registered brokers do not run elaborate demo engines the way offshore CFD platforms do. Indian brokers route orders to NSE, BSE, or MCX, which are real markets with real margins.

First-Timer Basics Before You Start

Ventura has operated since 1994, headquartered in Mumbai, and runs an omnichannel model with branches and sub-brokers covering more than 90% of India's PIN codes. That physical presence is unusual and useful if you prefer walking into an office when something goes wrong.

Your base currency is INR. Your funds move through UPI and net-banking. Settlement is in rupees because exchange trading in India settles in rupees.

The instruments you can access:

  • Equity (delivery and intraday)
  • Futures and options (F&O)
  • Currency derivatives
  • Commodities
  • Mutual funds
  • IPO applications
  • Insurance products
  • Portfolio management services (PMS)

As a beginner, you will likely start with equity delivery and maybe a few large-cap F&O contracts.

The Question Everyone Asks First

Can you practice without risking money? Not in a simulated account. The practical alternative is to start with a very small real position: one share of a liquid stock, or a single options lot. The psychological difference between a demo and a live order is enormous.

You can also spend a week on the platform in view-only mode, watching how orders fill, how the margin calculator behaves, and how the Ventura app handles your watchlists. Then start small.

PlatformTypeBest For
Ventura appMobileOrder placement on the go
Ventura PointerDesktopCharts and analysis
ventura1.comWebQuick access, no install

All three are free to use once your account is active. Pointer, the desktop terminal, is where most active traders spend their time. The mobile app is fine for execution but cramped for chart work.

What the Demo Gap Means in Practice

Without a demo, your first live order carries real consequences. If you misclick and buy 500 shares instead of 50, that is a real position. If you do not understand how intraday margin works under SEBI peak-margin norms, you might find yourself auto-squared-off at 3:20 PM without intending to be.

The costs are transparent. Delivery trades run roughly 0.10% to 0.45% depending on your plan. Intraday and futures are around 0.01% to 0.05%. Options are charged per lot, roughly Rs.18 to Rs.50. A flat or exclusive plan caps those percentages. Percentage-based plans suit smaller capital; flat plans suit frequent traders.

PRO TIP
Before your first live trade, run through the margin calculator for the exact instrument you plan to trade. Ventura shows you the required margin before you confirm.

Where It Falls Short

The lack of a sandbox environment is the main gap. Ventura's onboarding is built for people who already know what a limit order is, or who have someone (a sub-broker, a friend, a branch representative) walking them through it.

Two other points. Islamic or swap-free accounts are not offered. If that is a requirement for you, this broker is out. Promotions were not verified at review, so do not expect a welcome bonus or referral cash.

On the regulatory side, Ventura is a domestic broker regulated by SEBI (registration INZ000194736, member of NSE, BSE, MCX, and NCDEX, plus NSDL and CDSL depository participant). What that does not cover is offshore CFD or spot forex trading, because those channels are restricted for Indian residents under FEMA and RBI rules. Ventura does not offer spot XAG/USD with high leverage, and no SEBI-regulated broker does.

For spot forex and CFD exposure, RBI/FEMA permit residents to trade only INR-based currency pairs (USD/INR, EUR/INR, GBP/INR, JPY/INR) plus permitted cross-currency derivatives on SEBI-recognised exchanges (NSE, BSE, MSE). Trading spot forex or CFDs with offshore brokers is illegal for residents, and remitting funds abroad for margin forex trading is not a permitted LRS purpose. Check the RBI Alert List: as of the 19 November 2025 update, it lists 95 unauthorised forex platforms, and the RBI states the list is not exhaustive.

Costs and Account Types

Ventura runs two plan structures.

Plan TypeBest ForHow Charges Work
Percentage-basedLow-frequency, delivery-heavy% of trade value per segment
Flat / ExclusiveHigh-frequency, intraday, F&OFixed fee per trade or monthly

Account opening costs nothing. AMC is Rs.0. No verified minimum funding requirement was found at review. UPI transfers are near-instant and available 24/7, though NPCI caps transactions at roughly Rs.1 lakh per transaction per day.

For a beginner, the percentage plan is usually cheaper because trade sizes are small. Once you are placing more than 20-30 trades a month, run the numbers on a flat plan.

RISK ALERT
Intraday positions that are not closed by the auto-square-off time will be closed for you. Under SEBI peak-margin norms, intraday margin requirements can change through the day.

Who This Suits and Who It Doesn't

A match if you are an Indian resident who wants a long-established domestic broker with a branch network, INR settlement, UPI funding, and access to equity, F&O, currency, and commodity segments through SEBI-recognised exchanges. Free account opening and zero AMC mean there is little cost to trying.

A mismatch if you need a virtual-money demo environment, swap-free accounts, or access to spot forex and CFD markets with international leverage. Those channels are restricted for Indian residents under FEMA.

Questions

Can I practice trading before risking real money?

Not in a simulated environment. The practical alternative is to open the free account, spend time on the Ventura app or Pointer desktop watching order flow and margin calculations, then start with a single small live position, such as one share of a liquid stock.

What's the minimum deposit to start with Ventura?

No verified minimum funding requirement was found at review. You can fund your account via UPI or net-banking. UPI transfers are near-instant, though NPCI caps single transactions at roughly Rs.1 lakh per day.

Are there any account maintenance fees?

No. AMC is Rs.0 and account opening is Rs.0. Your costs come from trading charges: delivery around 0.10% to 0.45%, intraday and futures around 0.01% to 0.05%, and options roughly Rs.18 to Rs.50 per lot, depending on your chosen plan.

Does Ventura support Islamic or swap-free accounts?

No. Swap-free accounts are not offered. Some offshore brokers offer swap-free accounts, but these apply to the offshore CFD channel, which is restricted for Indian residents under FEMA.
